Nepenthes 'Briggsiana' belongs to the most popular varieties of pitcher plants. The cross between Nepenthes Ventricosa and Nepenthes Lowii convinces with its unusually shaped pitchers, which are strongly constricted in the middle. In addition, the dark red pitchers provide a great contrast to the lush green leaves.

The exotic pitcher plants originate from the hot and humid rainforests of Southeast Asia. The long, leathery leaves elongate at the tip to form a tendril, at the end of which hangs a pitcher. The edge of the pitcher produces nectar and scents that attract insects (mainly flies and wasps). At the smooth edge, these slip off and fall inside the pitcher, where they are decomposed with the help of digestive fluid. In this way, the plant fertilizes itself.

Habitat: Very bright and sunny, in the summer also protected outdoors possible. If the light is not enough, pots are not formed.

Water requirements: Keep evenly moist. Never allow to dry out! If the pots are empty (for example, due to shipping), they can be filled up to about one third with water. Only water with lime-free water!

Humidity: Increased, at least 50-60%. If the humidity is too low, pitchers are also not formed.

Substrate: Do not use normal potting soil. Mix unfertilized peat with perlite, Sphagnum perlite or special soil for carnivorous plants. Do not fertilize!

Toxicity: Non-toxic to animals.
