Calathea Lancifolia has a striking pattern of dark green ovals accented by the dark purple underside of the leaves. Calatheas are so-called "Prayer Plants", i.e. they lower their leaves in brightness and raise them again in darkness. Calathea Lancifolia is one of the simpler of its kind:
Location: A bright location with indirect sunlight is ideal
Water requirements: The soil should never dry out completely, keep the top layer of soil slightly(!) moist.
Humidity: Increased humidity, 60%-80%.
Toxicity: Calatheas are not toxic.
