Alocasia Frydek

Actually, this plant is not called Alocasia Frydek at all, but Alocasia Micholitziana 'Maxkowskii'. Frydek is the name for a variegated form of the plant, but has also become accepted for the green form. Probably no one could remember the complicated name. 

For us, Alocasia Micholitziana 'Maxkowskii' is one of the most beautiful plants ever. The velvety leaves have a great contrast between the white leaf veins and the dark leaf green! Originally the plant comes from the Philippine tropics. When fully grown, it can reach a height of half a meter to a meter.

Location: Bright, without direct midday sun. The temperature should be above 15 degrees Celsius all year round, otherwise it may go into hibernation.

Water requirements: Keep substrate consistently slightly moist in summer, allow to dry out between watering in winter.
