The exotic swamp pitchers are a real rarity among carnivorous plants. The trap leaves are shaped into unusual tubes that look like small vases. Swamp pitchers originate from the tropical high mountains of Venezuela, where they are used to extreme sun but rather cool temperatures. Unfortunately, this makes cultivation here a bit more challenging. However, the hybrid offered here is much more robust than other species and with a little skill can even be cultivated on the windowsill.

Location: Very bright and sunny, but the roots must always be kept cool. Therefore, it is best to cultivate in large clay pots, for example.

Water requirements: Keep evenly moist. Never allow to dry out! Water only lime-free water.

Humidity: The swamp pitcher needs an increased humidity of at least 60%.

Substrate: Do not use normal potting soil. Mix unfertilized peat with perlite, Sphagnum perlite or special soil for carnivorous plants. Do not fertilize!

Toxicity: Non-toxic to animals.

Other: There should always be some water in the tubes. Lowering the temperature at night has a positive effect on growth.
