Boswellia Neglecta is also called black frankincense and belongs to the caudex plants. The so-called caudex is the plant's broadened, tough shoot axis, into which it can retreat in times of drought. This ensures the survival of the plants in extreme habitats such as deserts.

As from all Boswellia species, incense is produced from the resin of this variety, which makes the plant a real specialty. In winter, this Boswellia usually goes into a dormant period, during which it sheds its leaves and must be kept almost dry. This plant can become a stately tree, which in nature grows up to 5 meters high!

Location: Bright and sunny, in the summer it is also possible to shelter outdoors. Not below 15 degrees Celsius.

Water Requirements: As a desert plant, Boswellia requires little water, so watering every 1-2 weeks is sufficient.

Humidity: No special requirements.

Substrate: Loose, well-drained soil (e.g. cactus soil). In the growing season can be fertilized weakly (!).

Toxicity: Non-toxic, sometimes even used as a medicinal plant.
