The Albuca Spiralis is called and belongs to the caudex plants. The so-called caudex is the plant's broadened, tough shoot axis, into which it can retreat in times of drought. This ensures the survival of the plants in extreme habitats such as deserts.

The buried bulb is rather inconspicuous, but the funny twisted leaves are all the more decorative and make the plant special! According to its origin, the plant grows mostly in winter and may go through a dormant period in summer, when the leaves die superficially.

Location: Bright and sunny, in the summer it is also possible to shelter outdoors. Not below 15 degrees Celsius.

Water requirements: As a desert plant, the Albuca needs little water, so watering every 1-2 weeks is sufficient. Keep dry during the dormant season in summer.

Humidity: No special requirements.

Substrate: Loose, well-drained soil (e.g. cactus soil). In the growing season can be fertilized weakly (!).

Toxicity: Slightly toxic!
